We have taken in 17 dogs in 10 days and are bursting at the seams. We need fosters immediately for all of our dogs to make space. We have dogs in all shapes, sizes and activity levels. If you can help in any way, please reach out. We could also use help with laundry, dishes and cleaning. Please contact us if you can help. Click here for more info.
Do not forget to bring your pets inside when it is too cold outside. IF IT IS TOO COLD FOR YOU, IT IS TOO COLD FOR THEM! The law says: During cold weather, a dog shelter must have a windbreak at its entrance and have bedding material that is sufficient to protect the animal from cold and promote the retention of body heat.

We operate on a first come, first served basis to qualified adopters which means WE DO NOT HOLD ANIMALS so you cannot reserve a cat over the phone or via e-mail.If you are interested in a particular cat before its available date please contact us. We would like a cat to go to a new home or rescue as soon as possible after its ’available’ date.
- Adoption fee for a dog is $100 and for a cat is $50 (cash or check, non-refundable). Fee includes spay/neuter surgery, first vaccines including Rabies, worming, flea treatment and for dogs a microchip. All animals are spayed/neutered when old enough.
- Adoption of cats is open to residents of Mason, Cabell, Putnam, Jackson County.
- Cats that have been spayed/neutered are available for adoption to any location including out of state residents.
